A fire spread quickly and caused heavy damage to two homes in the hills of Berkeley, California, last night at approximately 8:30 p.m. PT., according to a report from NBC Bay Area News.
The report indicates that residents close to the scene and in homes located in the hills above the fire were evacuated while firefighters brought the fire under control. During the incident, a live power line came down on top of one of the fire engines, forcing firefighters to temporarily abandon the apparatus.
Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion. All residents were removed from their homes safely and no other injuries were reported. The fire is still under investigation.
