General Motors announced that it has developed a fix to address fire hazard concerns in Chevrolet's Volt model vehicles, according to a report from PC Magazine.
The report indicates that this fix will resolve concerns of the Volt catching fire after a serious crash.
GM announced that an upgrade would come to the steel structure and liquid coolant system surrounding the battery in the Volt to prevent the electrical fire hazard.
An investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) safety regulators has been ongoing since November after the fire hazard issue was discovered during required safety tests.
