Firefighter James O'Neal has been released from treatment at a Tulsa hospital after being injured during arson fire on New Years Eve, according to a report from KJRH NBC News 2.
Investigations will begin next week to determine why O'Neal was breathing in smoke through his mask during the incident. The report quotes Tulsa Fire Department's Administrator Chief Jeremy Moore to say, "At this time it's at the very beginning of our investigation, so we're not exactly sure how the smoke got into James' mask. This is the first time that we've had somebody who has had this amount of smoke in their mask and need assistance getting out."
Moore continued in the report to say, "After the detailed investigation is when we'll be making those recommendations to either change our practices or our equipment to keep this from happening again."
