A volunteer firefighter rescued a woman who was trapped in an upside-down SUV that was sinking into a river Monday afternoon in Allegan County, Michigan.
According to WWMT.com (http://bit.ly/wA595e), the unidentified firefighter heard about the vehicle while listening to his scanner and drove to the scene, arriving before other crews. He jumped into the water and pried open the passenger door, rescuing the passenger.
That firefighter told reporters that the woman had about six inches of air left inside the vehicle when she was rescued.
