The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) announces an upcoming meeting and workshop on personal protective equipment (PPE) for the emergency medical services (EMS). Personal Protective Equipment: Selection, Use and Expectations: PPT Stakeholder Meeting and Workshop will take place at the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh Airport on March 21-22, 2012.
Attendees will
- Gain a better understanding of EMS-specific protective clothing and equipment
- Hear "success stories" from PPE users illustrating personal, real-life examples of how PPE has prevented serious illness
- Have an pportunity to provide your input and feedback on NIOSH PPE program activities and actions to enhance worker safety and health by closing PPE research, standard, and certification gaps
