
Firefighters in Portland (OR) worked together to lift a car off a bicyclist trapped beneath early Thursday.
Police told The Oregonian (http://bit.ly/wiWSha) that the cyclist hit one car after making an illegal lane change and ended up becoming pinned beneath a second car that ran over him.
Portland Lieutenant Damon Simmons said firefighters typically use jacks or air bags to lift a vehicle off someone who is injured, but in this case crews knew they didn't have time to set up the equipment. The firefighters used brute strength to remove the vehicle and rescue the injured man.
