
Chicago (IL) firefighters worked with a building engineer and an elevator company to free 18 people who were trapped in an elevator on the fifth floor of the John Hancock Center parking garage Saturday.
According to a report from CBS Chicago (http://cbsloc.al/wDj4T7), the Chicago Fire Department reported about 4:40 p.m. that they got word of a stuck elevator with people trapped in it.
The victims were freed at about 5:05 p.m. One woman was treated and transported for shortness of breath.
The week before, a Chicago firefighter became temporarily trapped while trying to rescue a victim trapped in a stuck high-rise elevator.
