NEMSAC Roundtable on EMS Education Agenda for the Future

The National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC) will meet from March 28-March 30 in Washington, D.C. This meeting will include a special roundtable event on the EMS Education Agenda for the Future: A Systems Approach. Because of the importance of the Education Agenda in our nation's EMS system and of the need to assure it remains a contemporary document, the NEMSAC decided to address the future of the Education Agenda and to host a roundtable to hear directly from stakeholders. There will also be further opportunities for input from individual stakeholders and organizations.

The draft agenda for the roundtable is attached and its purpose statement is below:

Roundtable Purpose Statement

To provide NEMSAC with stakeholder input about the EMS Education Agenda for the Future: A Systems Approach including a briefing on the Agenda's history and lessons learned from its implementation throughout the United States. This stakeholder input will help NEMSAC in making recommendations to the Department of Transportation and the Federal Interagency Committee on EMS regarding:

  • The Agenda's future; and
  • A process for revising/updating the Agenda as deemed necessary and appropriate

The NEMSAC will meet all day on March 29 and in the morning of March 30th for their regularly scheduled session. The agenda for those days will be available prior to the meeting.
