Government Studying Engine Fire Reports in Wranglers, Cruzes

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating reports of engine fires in the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and the 2010 Jeep Wrangler.There have been no injuries from the incidents, but the fires have reportedly destroyed at least six vehicles.

An Associated Press report (http://nyti.ms/Hf0Zzf) indicated that the governmental agency has received two reports of fires in the Cruze. In both cases, the owners said that the fires began while the cars were moving, and in both cases the vehicles were destroyed.

Alternately, the safety agency received eight reports of fires in 2010 Jeep Wranglers. Most fires began when the vehicles were moving, and four owners reported that their vehicles were destroyed.
