A fire burned portions of a day care center in southeast Houston, reports the Houston Chronicle.
The fire broke out about 12:30 a.m. at the facility, said a spokesman for the Houston Fire Department.
No injuries were reported.
The high winds hampered firefighters as they battled the flames. At one point firefighters were ordered into a defensive attack, meaning they retreated from inside the building because the flames was heavy.
The building was a home that had been converted for use as a day-care center.
