Firefighter Injured in Englewood Fire

A firefighter was taken to a hospital in serious condition after he was injured battling a fire in the Englewood (IL) neighborhood, reports CBS Chicago. Firefighters were battling a singe-alarm fire that had spread to two floors of a vacant building when the firefighter was injured. The firefighter injured his left knee and was transported in "stable" but serious condition to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, fire officials said. The fire, which also damaged a building next door, was extinguished about 2:30 p.m., fire officials said. Read more of the story here
