Fallen Firefighters Fundraiser at FDIC 2013: Stop, Drop, Rock 'n' Roll to Be Aired Live Online

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) announced today that its annual premier fundraiser, Stop, Drop, Rock 'n' Roll, will be broadcast live from the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis on Thursday, April 25, 2013. The broadcast will appear on www.helpthegoodguysTV.com . The event will feature a live performance by country music recording artist Darryl Worley.

The webcast and Worley's appearance are courtesy of Help the Good Guys, a non-profit organization that supports injured firefighters and that supports the NFFF's public safety initiative, "Be a Hero, Save a Hero."

"Over the past 10 years, Stop, Drop, Rock 'n' Roll has played an important part in helping the fire service industry honor America's fallen firefighters," said NFFF Executive Director Ron Siarnicki. "It is a chance for firefighters to give back to the fire service and have fun at the same time."

Stop, Drop, Rock 'n' Roll will be held at the historic Indiana Roof Ballroom from 7pm to 11pm. The Ballroom is located at 140 West Washington Street, in downtown Indianapolis next to the Embassy Suites Hotel and across from the Hyatt Regency Hotel. A $15 donation includes admission and a buffet. Tickets will be available at FDIC on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the registration area, during the show in the NFFF booth # 9448 (Lucas Oil Stadium) and at the door on the night of the event.

"I'm very excited and honored to be asked to perform in front of the nation's top fire officials and fire service members," said Worley. "Through my work with Help the Good Guys, I've met a number of firefighters and have a lot of respect for the work they do and their commitment to their communities. If I can help increase awareness of firefighter safety, I'm happy to do my part."

Worley, the evening's featured performer, has produced nearly 20 hit singles, including three number ones. His chart-topping singles include "I Miss My Friend," "Awful, Beautiful Life" and "Have You Forgotten," which accomplished the feat for one, two and seven weeks, respectively. Worley has earned nominations for five major ACM and CMA awards, including Song of the Year and Single of the Year, and has written songs for other artists including George Jones.

The evening, held in association with the Safety Components First Responders 911 Foundation, includes music, fun, food and refreshments, and a live auction. Attendees bid on a variety of items ranging from a full set of turnout gear to a pearl necklace. For a list of sponsors and auction items, visit www.stopdroprocknroll.com.
