Fire-Based EMS: Report: FDNY EMS Workers Post Gory, Private Pictures on Social Media

A recent news report highlighted several instances of Fire Department of New York (FDNY) EMS workers posting graphic pictures of patients online. The New York Post reports (http://bit.ly/YWXkjL) that, in defiance of New York City city rules and federal privacy laws, some first responders are posting photos of the ill, injured, or dead without permission on social media sites like Facebook. Some of the photos the report cited are intended to poke fun, such as doctored images of bariatric patients; others show the gory details typical of incident scenes.
