Federal Grant Saves Michigan Firefighter Jobs

The Saginaw Fire Department has received a $2.3 million federal grant that will prevent 15 firefighters from being laid off on July 1, reports MLive.com U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., and Carl Levin, D-Mich., announced that the city is receiving a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant. "Across Michigan, our firefighters provide courageous service to communities like Saginaw," Stabenow said.
