Forest Hill (MD) - A Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company (BAVFC) firefighter suffered minor burns as fire burned through a home in Forest Hill shortly after midnight Tuesday morning, the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office reported.
The fire occurred in a single-story, wood-frame home in the 200 block of Marshall Drive. It was reported just before 12:25 a.m., the Fire Marshal's Office said.
The fire, which started in the basement, caused an estimated $250,000 damage to the dwelling and $50,000 to its contents, according to the Fire Marshal's notice of investigation.
The unidentified BAVFC firefighter was transported to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore, where he was treated and released, the Fire Marshal's Office said.
At least 30 firefighters from Bel Air, Fallston, Joppa-Magnolia, and Jarrettsville volunteer fire companies responded. The fire was controlled within 30 minutes, the Fire Marshal's Office said.
