Chicago Fire Lieutenant Honors Firefighter Who Saved Him as a Child

Chicago (IL) Fire Fire Lieutenant Rick Vega will stand honor guard during the wake of late Firefighter Eddie Groya.

In 1963, Groya, a member of Truck 44, saved the life of Vega, who was five-years-old at the time, from an apartment fire. Vega went on to become a member of the same truck company as Groya.

Vega recounted his story to the Chicago Tribune HERE.

Groya, who retired from the job, passed away Monday at the age of 86. Read more about it at http://huff.to/13NF4vF and
