Structural Firefighting: Chicago Firefighters Issue Mayday After Collapse at Fire Scene

Chicago (IL) firefighters escaped injury after a roof collapse at the scene of a residential fire Friday night spurred a Mayday call on the fireground. A man and woman were charged with arson in the fire, according to a report from The Chicago Tribune (http://trib.in/15dgjc0), with the man remaining hospitalized after being injured in the incident. Firefighters were battling the fire in the attic of the two-story brick structure when the roof collapsed, prompting a Mayday to be issued. All firefighters were accounted for afterward.
