Fire Dynamics: Five NJ Firefighters Injured in Three-Alarm Townhouse Fire

Five firefighters were injured and about two dozen people displaced in a three-alarm fire Friday at a townhouse development in Secaucus, New Jersey. Mayor Michael Gonnelli, a former chief of the fire department, told The Jersey Journal ( that the fire was difficult, "taking off" once it had gotten into the walls and ceilings of the structure. The five injured firefighters were taken to an area hospital; by Saturday afternoon, three had been released but two were still being treated for heat-related injuries.
