Extrication Zone: NY Firefighter Struck by Tow Truck at Accident Scene

A West Crescent (NY) Fire District firefighter helping to clear a minor accident on a highway ramp was hit by a vehicle and injured Tuesday evening. A report on cnweekly.com (http://bit.ly/19inKU1) indicated the firefighter was struck by a tow truck backing up. The firefighter, identified as 66-year-old Allen Ayotte, was in critical condition with a fractured hip. He has been a volunteer with the department for 40 years.
