Firefighting News: Philadelphia Firehouse Catches Fire

Philadelphia (PA) firefighters responded to a fire that occurred in a fire station in the Old City neighborhood. An ambulance caught fire in the Philadelphia Fire Department's Ladder 2 firehouse, according to the local FOX affiliate (http://bit.ly/1dOeh8P). Flames from the fire spread to the station's overhead doors. EMTs on Medic 44, the vehicle that burned, called in the fire at around 11:36 a.m. and managed to escape safely. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 11:49. The ambulance was badly damaged, and the station will be out of service for now. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
