Detroit (MI) Firefighter Injured When Pike Pole Pierces Cheek

A Detroit (MI) firefighter was injured when a roof collapsed beneath him at a house fire yesterday and he fell face-first onto a colleague's pike pole. The Detroit Free Press (http://on.freep.com/GSlFFl) reports that 33-year-old Adam Mlinarich was crawling through the attic of a home checking for hot spots when the floor gave way beneath him. It was just before 6 p.m., and firefighters were nearly finished putting out a fire at the house. He fell and landed on another firefighter's pike pole, which pierced his cheek and impacted his jaw. Milnarich was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. No one else was injured in the incident. For more, go to http://on.freep.com/GSlFFl F...
