Maryland Fire Department Seeks to Bolster Diversity in Ranks

The Anne Arundel County (MD) Fire Department recently a new plan for improving diversity in hiring after it was criticized for having an almost all-white recruit class. Officials told The Baltimore Sun (http://bit.ly/1fQbjV3) that the department's recruitment plan includes several strategies aimed at getting minorities interested in joining the fire service and successfully applying.
