Firefighter LODDs: New Time for Saturday's Candlelight Service Honoring Fallen Firefighters

The impact of the government shutdown on Memorial Weekend has changed the starting time of Saturday's Candlelight Service honoring our nation's fallen firefighters. The service will now begin at 4:00 pm Eastern Time. It is being held this year at the Daughters of Charity Basilica in Emmitsburg, Maryland, because of the closing of the National Emergency Training Center campus where the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial is located. There will be no change in the start time of Sunday's Memorial Service at PNC Sports Arena on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University.
