A fire destroyed two homes and the headquarters of the Mt. Carbon (PA) Fire Company today.
Firefighters received an early morning call for a dwelling fire and arrived to find that flames in an unoccupied building had spread to a nearby home, according to a report from The Republican Herald (http://bit.ly/15MRQ3W). The fire then extended to the fire company's building.
Mount Carbon firefighters were able to get two of their vehicles out of the station before fire engulfed the back of the building. Crews from Mount Carbon, Pottsville, and other surrounding communities worked into the daylight hours to bring the fire under control.
