Hazmat Incidents: NY Firefighters Extinguish Fuel Tanker Fire

The truck crashed and exploded in flames on Sunrise Highway on late Tuesday night, December 17. Preliminary reports say that the eastbound truck rear-ended a car at the corner of Newbridge Road then rolled over on its side, ending up in a nearby parking lot. Both drivers were able to escape their vehicles before a huge fireball erupted. More than 7,000 gallons of fuel spilled out of the tanker and seeped dangerously close to neighboring homes.
