Funerals Arranged for Two Boston Firefighters

Funerals have been set for Lt. Ed Walsh and firefighter Michael Kennedy, who were killed in a nine-alarm fire that broke out Wednesday in Boston, reports wcvb.com.

Walsh, 43, was married and leaves behind three children younger than 10. He was with the department for more than nine years.

Visiting hours for Walsh have been set for Tuesday, April 1, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick Parish in Watertown. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Kennedy, 33, was single, a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters and a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was with the department for more than six years.

Visitation for Kennedy has been set for Wednesday, April 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at P. E. Murray/George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home in West Roxbury. His funeral will be held at Holy Name in West Roxbury on Thursday at 11 a.m.
