Eye Safety Systems Introduces Crossbow Photochromic Eyeshield

Eye Safety Systems, Inc. (ESS) announced the introduction of its new ballistic Crossbow eyeshield with photochromic transition lens. The Crossbow Photochromic spectacle represents a continued expansion to the line of highly acclaimed Crossbow eyeshields. The Crossbow Photochromic allows users to have one single ballistic eye piece that works both indoors and outdoors. The product can be viewed at ESS Booth #1235 at FDIC 2014.

The Crossbow Photochromic is a premium addition to the ESS product line, which redefines functional eye protection for military and public safety professionals. Developed in conjunction with Transition Optical, Inc., the Crossbow Photochromic has light-adapting technology which provides fast adjusting tint change. The lens achieves 50-percent tint activation at 11 seconds and 90 percent activation in less than one minute. The ESS Photochromic lenses provide a visible light transmission (VLT) range of 86 percent-24 percent.

"The Crossbow Photochromic is the ultimate do-it-all eyeshield. The Crossbow frame has a broad universal fit with its Tri-Tech ergonomics giving maximum comfort and zero pressure points, and a 2.4 mm ballistic polycarbonate lens that features ESSOPTICS for distortion--free optical precision throughout the entire field of view. With the photochromic lens, users can go from a bright light situation, move indoors and know that the Transition Optics lens will rapidly change to the light conditions providing the greatest level of vision safety," said Chris Dawson, ESS Product Manager.

The ESS Crossbow Photochromic, like the entire line of Crossbow series, meets or exceeds the U.S MIL SPEC PRF 31013 (clause 3.5.1.1), ANSI Z87.1-2010, and US OSHA requirements.

For users with prescription eyewear needs, ESS currently offers two Rx insert options for the Crossbow: the nylon-framed P-2B Rx Insert,, and the wire-framed Vice Rx Insert.

The Crossbow Photochromic One kit includes a black Crossbow frame, light-adapting photochromic lens, microfiber cleaning pouch, elastic retention strap and hard case, and is available now to purchase from ESS's secure Web site and a variety of retail partners.
