Three-Alarm House Fire in San Francisco Spreads to Three Buildings

A fire at a house in San Francisco's Duboce Triangle neighborhood Tuesday afternoon has spread and is affecting at least three other buildings, reports CBS San Francisco.

One firefighter was injured when melting tar fell on him. He has since been transported to St. Francis Hospital. There was no word on his condition.

The fire was reported at 1:34 p.m. at 3436 Walter Street between Duboce Avenue and 14th Street. Firefighters called for a second alarm at 1:42 p.m. and asked for a third alarm around 2 p.m.

Fire officials said one house was engulfed in flames, before the fire began to spread. Deputy Chief Mark Gonzales said the fire is not under control, but that firefighters do have the upper hand. Gonzales said 34 units were on hand involving 105 members of personnel.
