By TIM PILLSWORTH While reading Barry Daskal's article, "Captain: The First 60 Days" (Fire Engineering, October 2009), I realized that I had done or wished that I had used many of the ideas Daskal presented to help new chiefs. Afterward, while talking to some members, we realized there were no ideas out there that would help a new officer work his way up to the ranks of lieutenant, then to captain, and finally to chief.
