The REMEMBRANCE RESCUE PROJECT was created in July 2011 from Rescue 4, a Fire Department of New York (FDNY) apparatus used during 9/11, to serve as a mobile memorial which honors and remembers the events of 9/11 and all fallen firefighters throughout the country. The project is a registered Not-For-Profit, and funds generated are used to restore the Rescue and fund activities for children of firefighters lost in the line of duty throughout the United States. Mutual Aid Box Alarm System—Illinois has provided secure storage for the Rescue in its 70,000-square-foot Readiness Facility.
