CHAMPAGNE In lieu of performing actual fireground skills during a live incident, training is the best way for volunteer and career firefighters to always be prepared and stay sharp in firematic skills. Training is not discriminatory. With call volume decreasing or remaining stagnant for many departments, this could result in firefighter complacency in performing the vital skills and tactics at an incident.
