Drill of the Week: Apparatus Tools and Equipment

Middle

Drill by Forest Reeder

This training session is a test of your knowledge of the vehicle specifications and equipment locations and usage for apparatus you are assigned to operate. Being able to recall the location of that piece of equipment at 2 a.m. is a critical skill when time is working against you. Don't make the fireground operation your place to learn where that tool is kept. Knowledge and ability to locate, use and maintain all equipment on your apparatus is a key function of each member of a fire company. Pride yourself on your knowledge of your rigs.
