He recently served on the Federal Advisory Committee of the National Construction Safety Team and is a member of the Fire Code Advisory Council for New Jersey. A. The "Great Molasses Flood." A 2,300,000 gallon tank of molasses ruptured, sending a tidal wave 15 feet high moving at 35 mph through the North End's narrow, curvy streets.
