August Roundtable: Chief's Education Level

Middle

August Roundtable Question: In Europe, it is not unusual for fire chiefs to have Ph.D.s. Given that some fire chiefs in the United States run very large organizations, is it acceptable to have a fire chief who only has a high school diploma? What should be the level of higher education that U.S. fire chiefs should achieve?

Please limit your response to 250 words, and remember to include your name, rank, dept, city, and state.

Deadline for Responses: April 21, 2008.
