Executive Fire Officer Graduate Symposium Webcast on March 29

On Saturday March 29, 2008, between 10:30 am and 4:00 pm EDT, the National Fire Academy will broadcast three Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Graduate Symposium presentations over the Internet. The live presentations will be available for viewing and participation at www.openfireacademy.org.

Presentations include:

Politics, Policy, and Practice: What the Fire Service Needs to Know and Do with Hal Bruno, ABC News (Ret); Chief Denis Rubin, District of Columbia Fire/EMS; Reporter Dave Statter, WUSA News; and Dr. Burton A. Clark, Management Science Chair, National Fire Academy.

LODD Reduction: Where Do We Go from Here? with Dr. Denis Onieal, Superintendent of the National Fire Academy.

Fire Ground Survival with Captain Derek Alkonis, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Tim Merina, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

To access the events online, go to the following link: efo.openfireacademy.org

You will need an account for access.

2. Follow the instructions and complete the required fields.
3. When you submit the information, you will receive an e-mail for verification purposes. (NOTE: If you do not receive an e-mail within a couple of minutes, check your spam or junk mail folder. If you do not have an e-mail there, contact info@joshuatreegroup.com.)
4. Your account has been created! Congratulations! Go to efo.openfireacademy.org again and login. You will be taken to the course.

Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the Web site. You can also introduce yourself on the discussion boards, upload pictures, or chat with other online attendees. The online community will remain up, even after the symposium, so check back often and enjoy the time.
