Drill of the Week: Leadership & Management III

Middle

By Forest Reeder

We continue our series on leadership and management problem solving this week with another 10 real-life scenarios taken from stories submitted by fire officers. These officers shared these stories with us as they felt they didnt quite handle them as well as they could have as new officers and hope that you consider your responses to them very carefully.

Review your department management resources such as labor contracts, rules and regulations, and standard operating guidelines and apply your common sense and experience to these situations. After you provide a response to these situations, discuss the scenarios with your company and take time to communicate your expectations of each other in these areas.
