1944 Hartford Circus Fire: Tent Burned “Like Tissue Paper”

Seventy years ago this month, on July 6, 1944, the Hartford (CT) Circus Fire occurred when a tent, waterproofed with paraffin and gasoline, ignited and was  rapidly consumed.
