Dave Dalrymple explains this vehicle extrication technique, which entails stabilizing a vehicle on its side by placing a right-angle against the vehicle. Sponsored by Holmatro.
I'm Dave apple welcome to fired yankees' training minutes. Today we're gonna talk about tension but -- stabilization. -- attention but -- -- -- is nothing more it's just simply putting a right triangle against the vehicle itself. There was a lot of different struck systems out there for vehicles overturned or its upside down -- -- on different object. We're gonna show you simple basis this simple basic principle behind. Tension buttress curbing. So. Basically we're gonna do we're gonna come in on a vehicle on its side. We're gonna first put in a -- of curbing underneath the vehicle all the way around it to fill in all -- Now we're gonna work from the dirty side. Which is the undercarriage side and then to the clean side which is the sheet metal side. We're gonna put two struts in on a dirty side. And two -- -- on the clean side thus capturing the vehicle. And increasing its basic ground contact. Now -- -- gonna come in they're gonna go through the entire evolution step by step. So let's take a look at what they're gonna do. -- rescue crews coming and they're gonna put it kriegel -- around the the vehicle both the dirty side. The -- side and now they're putting. He struck some place. Wanna try and stay away from any suspension components and -- between. The wheels. Side of the wheels. On the thirty -- on the senate side of it. Once the strike has been placed under I think they ratchet strap and -- that strapped from the base of the struck. To the vehicle itself. Thus making a complete break triangle against the vehicle. -- and it's please contact. Any extra strap from the left -- -- you're gonna wrap around the base of the strike. -- and -- it up close to the vehicle itself so it's they enjoy this moment. Now once the dirty -- secure we're gonna -- -- want on the clean side. The reason why we work on the dirty side -- -- -- outside -- -- many times we're gonna have to make an opening our purchase went on the side. -- the work -- haven't -- into the battle or watching them. If we do that we're putting pressure against. The other side of the vehicle but since we've already captured the other side of the vehicle vehicle still -- solved. How many times would only be able to get -- -- -- and this vehicle were able to get for it. Think about the vehicle on its side. What part of the vehicle -- you gonna take apart your only gonna to remove the roof expectation -- We'll. Hear the crew is making a purchase point. To hook the -- In the front. And the -- that may have purchased point to -- the end of the struck. And again just like dirty side. Once the structures in place we're -- -- -- strapped from the base of the strike to the vehicle itself to complete the right -- -- widen the -- contract. The vehicle passes -- Once we've completed both sides. We'll make sure that or -- -- the -- and the more complete vehicles solid. Okay our crew finished up -- -- and -- stabilization. Evolution. They went through it step by step simple basic process was very quick -- -- the vehicle in place very very positive. Again. We want to show and demonstrate in this evolution the simple principle behind tension but the stabilization. Nothing more than a right triangle against the vehicle -- other systems out there that can be complex that work well however. They all work behind the simple principle. I'd like to thank our sponsor Camacho. And I'd like to thank you for watching training Linux be safe out there.
