Mark C. Emery, fire commissioner, Woodinville (WA) Fire & Rescue, has been named the recipient of the 2013 Fire Engineering/International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) George D. Post Instructor of the Year Award.
[MUSIC] Good morning. It's an honor and a privilege for the International Society of Fire Service Instructors to partner with Pinwell Fire Engineering and FDIC. To present the world's most prestigious instructor award, the George D. Post Instructor of the Year. Let's take a look at this year's recipient. The international society of fire service instructors in the fire engineering magazine proudly present the 2013 George D. Post instructor of the year award. Award. The Instructor of the Year award has a long history of honoring the best and brightest of the fire service. And this year is no exception. Hailing from the State of Washington, this year's winner, Mark Emory, received multiple nominations. Just a few of Mark's accomplishments include: development of the Integrated Tactical Accountability [INAUDIBLE]. System. One that is mentioned as a model in multiple NFPA standards. The essentials of fire station leadership program providing leadership development for fire fighters. He developed a command competency clinic working with incident commanders to improve their efficiency and safety on the fire ground. Mark developed the King County office of development academy. Providing formal leadership and management training for hundreds of young fire officers. In addition, he created the Advanced Pump Operator Academy, a tought hands-on program to enhance the skills of pump operators in Kent County. Mark also took a great interest in building construction, developing a college credit program for firefighters and community colleges all across the state of Washington. More significant efforts in operations, training, and education have enhanced all levels of firefighting. From basic training to advanced command skills, Mark has touched every aspect of firefighting with a focus on saving the lives of firefighters. His efforts have impacted firefighters in King County. The state of Washington and fire fighters all across the United States. For these efforts the International Society of Fire Service Instructors and Fire and Engineering Magazine are proud to present 2013 George D.
