Issue 6 and Volume 1.

NEWARK, N. J. Engine Co. No. 2, which has been running a condemned engine for several months, received their new steamer Passaic on Thursday. They gave her a trial, taking suction fifteen feet in the canal. She threw one stream from 1 1/4 inch nozzle two hundred and forty-six feet seven inches. In the evening the boys had a supper and a pleasant entertainment. They are as pleased with their new machine as a boy with his first boots. The Passaic was built by John N. Dennison, of Newark.
