The Journal. Kind words from all sections have greeted the appearance of the FIREMAN’S JOURNAL. Some of the pleasant things which our cotemporaries have said of us we have reproduced in our columns, but the many letters of congratulation which we have received are reserved for our private encouragement. These embrace many from Chiefs of Departments, who felicitate themselves and us upon the high and dignified standard we have set up for ourselves, and who congratulate the Firemen upon having a paper devoted to their best interests. We appreciate this generous recognition of our labors, and take this opportunity to thank, by wholesale, our many correspondents. But right here we wish to say a word. We cannot make such a paper as we desire without the cordial co-operation and support of the Firemen. We want it collectively and individually.
