Random Sparks. -Holyoke, Mass., wants a new Hose carriage and 1,000 feet of good Hose. So says Chief Hardy. —Boston is asked to pay $596,249 for the maintenance of the Fire Deparment and Fire Alarm this year. —The relief society of St. John, N. B., had 92 applications per day dunng February from victims of the great fire. —An appropriation of $2,500 is asked for the support of the Northampton, Mass., Fire Department the present year. —In consequence of the embarrased condition of Chicago’s finances it has been decided to discharge one hundred policemen and one hundred firemen. —During the month of February in Detroit, Mich., there were twelve fires, resulting in loss amounting to $3,655 ; the insurance on which was $32,8.25. —Winneconne, Wis., appears to be doomed by some malicious fire bug.
