Random Sparks. —The annual parade of the Amsterdam Fire Department takes place on September 10. —Armour & Co., of Chicago have supplied their new packing-house with 14 Babcock Fire Extinguishers. —The new Fire Alarm Telegraph for Utica has been thoroughly tested and turned over to the Department. —It is rumored that James Allen, an old Fireman of Albany, will succeed Chief McQuade, of that city, who contemplates resignation. —Forest fires are reported on the North Shore of Lake Superior, extending almost continuously for 160 miles, from Duluth to Beaver Bay. —The city of ButTalo has been sued by eleven Firemen for being discharged without cause. They claim an aggregate amount of $10,691.27. —The Ahrens Manufacturing Company, of Cincinnati, has just received orders for two Engines, one for Cleveland, and one for St. Louis. —There will be a Firemen’s muster at Weymouth, Mass., on September 22, instant, when $600 in prizes,…
