RANDOM SPARKS —Mexico, Mo., is in need of 500 feet of new hose. —It is reported that 89 flouring mills were destroyed in 1878. —San Jose, Cal., has ordered 1,000 feet of Maltese Cross Hose. —Jersey City paid $117,227.75 as the expense of the Fire Department for 1878. —There is some talk of the Memphis City Council seizing the Steam Fire Engines. They are “liquidating” the city debt. —No member of the San Francisco Fire Department is permitted to be a member of any political club, convention, or committee. —Mr. Baker, of Monroe county, has renewed a bill at Albany which was vetoed a year ago.
