Special Notices. Swinging Harness. STATE OF NEW YORK, CITY AND COUNTY OF NEW YORK, On this 2d day October, 1878, before me personally appeared Mr. Edward O’Sullivan, of New York City, and being duly sworn, says: That he has seen it stated in the NATIONAL FIREMAN’S JOURNAL, of September 28, 1878 that the Swinging or Suspended Harness was exhibited in the city of Cleveland, Ohio, during the recent Convention of Fire Engineers of the United States, and that one Lieutenant Kidd claims to be one of the owners of the patent for this harness, and that he represents the other owners. He, therefore, states on oath that he was formerly connecied with the San Francisco, Cal., Fire Department, that while connected theiewith he invented the said Swinging or Suspended Harness ; that he holds Letters Patent for the said harness granted to him on the 14th day of December, 1875…
