THE BROOKLYN DEPARTMENT. DEATH OF PRESIDENT WILLIAMS. David Williams, the President of the Department of Fire and Buildings in Brooklyn, died at 11 P. M., Monday, at his residence. No. 1489 Pacific street, in that city. He was a native of New York, and was forty-one years of age. His death was caused by consumption, with which he has been afflicted lor a long time, alhough it was only recently that he became unable to attend to his regular duties. Mr. Williams was a prominent Republican, and took an active part in the politics of the Seventeenth Ward (Greenpoint), where he long resided. He was a delegate to every State Republican Convention for the past twenty years, and was a member also of the two last National Conventions.
