RANDOM SPARKS —Holly, Michigan, has contracted for a system of Water-works. —Michigan City, Ind., will hold a Tournament at that city on September 17 and 18. —The Holly Water Works Company, of Lockport, N.Y., pays out $1400 per week to its employees. —The great majority of the Chiefs of Fire Departments in the State of Michigan are strict temperance men. —Jonesville, Mich., has a good active Hose Company, called Protection Hose No. 1. Thomas Howlitt is Chief. —A new Hook and Ladder Company has been organized at Carver, Minn., with a membership of thirty-six; Foreman, J. P. Torrey. —Three Rivers, Mich., hasone Hand Engine and Hose Company, and 30members. H. Mexfield is Chief and Amos Warden, FTrst Assistant. —Sterling, Ill., will have a Firemen’s Tournament on September 17th, at which $200 in prizes will be awarded.
