MINOR TOPICS The Van Develde improved heater, manufactured by John Van Develde, No. 36 Academy street, Cleveland, O., is fast pushing itself to the front rank; for a new invention its introduction has been very rapid. Orders from Ravena, O., Kokomo, Ind., Springfield, O., and from the Cleveland Fire Commissioners for Engine No. 3, have recently been filled, and more are on hand. The Leverich Fire Apparatus Works of this city, shipped this week to Cohoes, N. Y., a very elegant Hose Carriage for Campbell Hose No. 2. No wood or paint was used in the construction of this Carriage excepting in the wheels, and the entire metal work is highly polished, and heavily nickel plated ; the reel heads were made ot French plate glass and the general appearance of the Carriage is superb.
