RANDOM SPARKS —The American Construction Company will at once proceed with the construction of Water-works at Council Bluffs, Ia. —Virginia City, Nev., appears to be well satisfied with its Fire Department, which is now in charge of Chief Pennison. —Hydrant Hose Company, of Lockport, N. Y., are to have a grand Tournament and celebration July 4, and offer prizes to the amount of $1000. —A Steam Fire Engine at Astoria, Oregon, was allowed to stand a longtime with salt water in the boiler. Upon examination the tubes were found to be rusted out. _An event which will add to the interest of Decoration Day at Brockton, Mass., will be a trial of the new Silsby Steamer. The trial will be witnessed by many Firemen. —The Wilmington, 111., Fire Department is under able management, Frequen* practice drills are held.
