THE ELECTRIC LIGHT HAZARD. The annual meeting of the United Fire Underwriters in America, an association which includes within its membership the representatives of nearly every domestic and foreign company doing business in this country, was held in New York last week. The attendance was very large, and men who have made the fire hazard a study all their lives were present. The object of the meeting was naturally the promotion of the interests of fire underwriting. With this end in view carefully prepared essays were read by those persons who were most competent to treat upon pertinent subjects, and following the reading of each paper came a general discussion, participated in by the Convention generally.
